The Kimberly Crest House was built in 1897, and is one of the best-preserved Victorian mansions in the state. Over 11,000 people visit Kimberly Crest every year, and you can see why! The original owner of the property was Cornelia A. Hill, a pioneer in the city. In 1905, J. Alfred Kimberly, co-founder of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, purchased the property. The property was a place of joy and celebration for the Kimberly family, and the holiday season was particularly spectacular.
The Kimberly Crest House and Gardens in Redlands CA are a beautiful place for a wedding or any other special event. The grounds are a beautiful backdrop for a photo shoot. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place that is part of Redlands’ history. It is operated by a nonprofit organization, so you can rent the property by the hour. The estate can host your wedding or other special event on six and a half acres of land.
The Redlands Bowl is the oldest continuous music festival in the country. From June to August, this outdoor event features a half-timbered open-air theater. The Redlands Art Association has classes and art shows. Redlands’ downtown is home to the University of Redlands. The campus has palm-lined main streets, 100-year-old trees, and lush green lawns. The Administration Building dates back to 1909, and tours of the campus are available during 10am-1pm Monday-Friday.
Located in the heart of Redlands, the historic Glass Museum is not your ordinary glass museum. It only features glassware from American glassmakers. The collection features over 7,000 examples of glassware dating back to the 1800s. Visit the Saturday Morning Certified Farmer’s Market, open from 8am to 11am, featuring local produce, artist stands, and even local meat. Redlands also knows brunch.
In addition to the French revival parlor, the Kimberly Crest house and gardens in Redlands have Italian terraced gardens and an orange grove. Throughout the gardens, you can observe vibrant Koi, lilies, and papyrus. A garden journal of the Kimberlys’ monthly tasks is also available, and updated by gardener Mary Emma Shirk. This collection of documents is an important piece of Redlands history.
In addition to the historic Kimberly Crest House and gardens, you can visit the Mission San Gabriel. The Mission’s chapel was built in 1937 and can accommodate up to 100 guests. The gatehouse is reserved for the bride and her attendants. Alternatively, you can visit the Edwards Mansion. The mansion offers exclusive wedding services. It offers several locations for the ceremony and reception, including a chapel and garden space. The quaint interiors make it a perfect setting for a wedding or reception.
